Meet the Artist

Hi, I'm Kayla, the artist behind Kuhleeluh Studio and 1125 Ink & Design Co.

I've been creating art for more than 20 years and enjoy working in a variety of subjects, from wildlife and florals to portraits, pets, and the unexpected subjects that catch my eye. While the subjects may vary, I am always drawn to pieces that tell a story and create a connection.

Along the way, I’ve continued to grow as an artist through workshops and classes, including those offered by Ali Kay Studio, where I’ve explored new techniques and expanded my creative approach.

In addition to painting, I create digital designs through 1125 Ink & Design Co. and published the adult coloring book Color Me Mentally Checked Out, a collection that blends creativity, dark humor, and everyday life.

I also accept custom commissions, including pet portraits, memorial portraits of loved ones, and wedding detail paintings that preserve meaningful moments and memories. Whether it is celebrating a milestone, honoring someone special, or capturing a cherished companion, my goal is to create artwork that can be treasured for years to come.

This portrait is of my late brother, Steven. He passed in August 2021 and he is one of the reasons I decided to jump in head first and paint portraits. I gifted this one to my parents in May 2026.

This portrait is of my late Dad, Steve. He passed in June 2026 and I created this portrait to display at his funeral. After the service I gifted this portrait to my Mom.

Both of these paintings serve as reminders of how art can preserve the people and memories that we never want to forget. Honestly, painting them has helped me heal and better understand grief.
